power supply voltage

My +3.3 rail on my Antec TrueBlue 480W psu was reading 2.6 on MBM, so I RMA'ed it. In meantime, I borrowed a psu from a friend. This power supply isn't exactly the best power supply ever. I think he bought it for like 15 bucks on clearance. The thing is, the 3.3 rail on this is also at 2.6. My feeling is that this is just a coincidence and its like this because its a cheapo psu, but is there anything else that might be causing this? Could it be motherboard monitor? If so, are there any other programs I should try?

Personally I wouldn't have RMA'd a piece of hardware just because a third-party diagnostic/monitor program gave me a weird number.

I've had experience with MBM5 giving me lots of weird numbers, like temp readings of -76°C and 210°F, or obsurdly low fan RPMs. I especially wouldn't trust software to accurately read voltages.

In short, that low reading for the PSU is probably due to incompatibalities with your mobo and MBM, or any other number of things.

Well I could tell there was a problem because my system was never stable. I'm not overclocking, but it often freezes when a play games. It really seemed like a psu problem to me. I talked to Antec and they told me I should RMA it.

Oh, well if it was unstable then I don't blame you. Does your system freeze with the cheapo supply?

Guess you won't really know for sure until you get the replacement PSU.

Your 3.3 volt rail wasn't 2.6 volts. There's no way. The computer probably wouldn't even turn on at that voltage, much less boot into windows. Onboard sensors are almost ALWAYS off. If you want to know, take readings with a multimeter.
