Power supply Voltage question :confused;

Heya... i recently (as in today) tryed to turn on my new 1ghz AMD athlon k7 computer... it has everything but a HD and CDrom... BUT i was just testing it to make shure all the fans were working properly... well the first time i turned it on it worked fine under the 115v setting on the power supply... then for some reason it stoped turning on the fans... i checked to make shure it was all plugged in and everyhting fit tight with no luck then i switched the powersupply voltage setting to 230v and they worked fine... will keeping it at this setting do anyhting to the computer? just making shure cos i dont wana ruin it and all thanx in advance!

well it wont mess anything up as long as your hardware will accept 230volts

hmmm how can i tell if the hardware will accept it? and if it wont then is there any way to get it to work under only 115v?
