Power Supply troubleshooting suggestions

So after 8 years my desktop took a crap. My EVGA mother board keeps posting an FF message and won't boot. I have pretty much tried every suggestion I have found on the web and still won't get it to boot. My last two options are to buy a power supply see it that fixes it or get a new mother board and see if my power supply is still good. I am wandering if
1. I should just go out and get a new power supply, even if I don't need it.
2. Is there a way to test my power supply? I have heard of those power supply testers. Would it be worth the investment even if I would only use it once or twice?
3. Any suggestions/ advice?
Thanks in advance.

Specs of system in question?

Afaik, a POST code of FF means "success" - no error.

So, do the lights come on and do the fans spin? Do you have a speaker connected? Does it beep once when booting?

Have you double-checked your monitor cable and monitor?
