I was hoping someone could suggest a power supply to run an E2180 Intel chip with minor possible overclocking. I probably won't be doing much, if any overclocking so what is a decent power supply to run this chip?

How many watts are needed?
My current machine I am upgrading is an XP210+ overclocked running an Antec True Power 330W and never skipped a beat.

Anyone have any recommendations? I am not trying to break the bank since I probably won't be doing a ton of overclocking so a few different power supply price ranges will be helpful.

Is the Antec EarthWatts half decent for a little overclocking on an E2180?

I see the Antec EarthWatts 500 for $59.99 after rebate
and the Antec EarthWatts 430 for $39.99 after rebate

I am building the rig SerpentRoyal suggested with the Abit IP35-e, and for a cpu one of these: E2140/E2160/E2180.

Is the 430 a worthy supply at that price? Or should I consider something else?

It will take a capable E2180 to 3.6GHz. There is no need to spend more $ on E2180. Get the the E2160 since both are the same chip with different CPU multiplier. You'll be able to push a good E2160 to 3.6GHz with those $10/GB HP RAMs.

The 430 was on sale for $30. I would wait for NewEgg to drop price back down to $30. I also like the Ultra V or X-Finity 500/600. These are usually FREE AR from Frys.com.

Thanks SerpentRoyal!

Sounds like the E2160 is the chip I will get them. I won't be overclocking like mad anyhow, but a little boost will be good enough for me. I've had a few Antec True power supplies and they have always been super quiet, and stable when overclocking. If nothing changes in the next few days, I think i will probably go with the Antec EarthWatts 430.

Is the Antec Earthwatts 380 too underpowered to consider? Newegg has it for $50-$30 rebate=$20. Or is the Earthwatts 430 for $70-$30=$40 the route I should go?

NewEgg is out of stock on the Antec 430, so are there any others recommended in the same range?

It will also work fine as long as you don't run four HDDs, two optical drives, and load up all the PCI/PCI-E slots on the MB (especially with a uber expensive graphic card). My overclocked E4300 @ 3.49GHz rig pulls 180 watts under Orthos.

Ok, so I might just go with the Antec Earthwatts 380 since I've trusted them in the past.

How is the brand Cooler master?
They have this for $45 - $20 rebate = $25

NewEgg
I read that these are rebadged Seventeam and is probably more like a 400w.

Should I just stick with the Antec 380?
