He doesn't necessarily need over a 350w power supply, just depends on the system it will be used for. 350w will do ALOT as long as it's something non generic and has good specs.

It looks as if you have spent a decent amount on your system, so I would get a good PSU to go with it. As has been already said, a quality 350W would be fine. However very good PSUs like the Truepower 430 can be had for not much more money. The quiet performance and tight voltage regulation are worth it in my opinion.

We don't know what you have, but if you don't know what you need, you don't need more than 300...maybe 350 (It is a 3.06GHz...). Spend $40-60 on an Enermax or Antec from a good vendor (Newegg, Directron, etc.), and you should be set. I'd recommend reading some of the reviews at Newegg, personally. While many contain user error issues, those that don't can be quite informative on the many subjective matters when buying these things (like noise and stability relative to other parts used).

I recommend having a look at the extensive and informative PSU roundup at Tom's Hardware here. I found it to be very educational and interesting.

...and if you don't feel like reading stuff, just get an antec truepower 380 and you'll be safe both in terms of power and sound levels.

I just got an Antec truepower 380. I dont think you can go wrong with the truepower series.... it's ULTRA quiet, and plus, it has some "fan only" connectors that seem to have the "7 volt mod" already done, so you can run your louder fans slower. Right now my antec 1080 case with 4 panaflo case fans, a crystal orb on the video (undervolted), and alpha pal 8045 with some generic 80mm fan sounds almost like an OEM Dell system... only a slight hum. My old PSU was quitting out so i bought this out of necessity but it's very comforting knowing my computer isn't going to randomly turn off when I'm doing something

One more recomendation for Antec, either 430 TruePower should be fine. Personally I just picked up the 480 TruePower (arrived last night). Its for my new rig, similar in setup.

i own a channelwell tech 430 watt one, and i love it. channelwell tech is one of the oems that antec buys from, so they make quality PSUs.
