I'm interested in this EPS power supply, Sparkle FSP550-60PLG-B. It's a 550W Fortron EPS power supply with a single 36 Amp 12-Volt rail (why I'm interested). Fortron has a reputation for producing high quality power supplies.

What I'm wondering about is whether or not it would be good for a new Socket 939 nForce4 motherboard build. Specifically--does it have all of the connectors that I would want? Unfortunately it's hard to tell from the item descriptions and the manufacturer's descriptions exactly what connectors it has.

Does anyone own this PSU, and if so, do you know what connectors it has? Is it really loud and does it do a good job of cooling itself? It's available for for about $95 after shipping at eWiz:

Should I get that one or go for one of the power supplies that are being marketted for SLI even though they might be dual-rail (like the Antecs seem to be)?

I am running a power-hungry Prescott 3.0, 4 hdds, zalman hsf, few case fans, tv tuner, other pci cards and a 7800 gt. It is not loud but that may be due to only having a single fan. It does kick out some heat from the single fan.

No hiccups running any programs. Has the 24 pin connector and sata connectors as well as the SLI power connector, and fan-only power connector. Length is more than adequate (I have no problems in a P-180).

edit: the pics at newegg should give some good pics of the connectors.

It is one that I always recommend for systems needing solid +12 rail. At least one place was selling it for ~$85.+sh. Any connector it might lack can easily be adapted.
. Just about anything that might be better will be considerably more expensive, but that shouldn't stop you from considering Zippy, Seasonic, PCP&C, etc.

yep thats true!!

Speaking of solid 12v rails thats the main reason i went with the PCP&C unit that i have...
I got tired of all the nonesense.....
Having solid rails all around is worth a godd nights sleep!!:)
