im wondering what psu will be a better fit for my system. i will be overclocking, as much as i possibly can so take that into account. planned build is

prolly gigabyte ps3 or whatever is a good o/cing board for conroe

6300 or 6600 or whatever cpu comes in the intel retail edge budle

2 gigs ram

2 hdds (2x7200.10 320gb)

2 optical

gpu will be anywhere from 7600gt to x1900xt depending on how much gaming i end up doing.

some sound card and maybe tv tuner

will the 430 be enough for me or should i spring for the 500. i will never do sli or xfire

430W would be enough for stock. Overclocking...I would just splurge on the extra reserve capacity. I have an extremely similar system that will be running on an Antec NeoHE 550 once I get the CPU in. All I know about the PSU is that it's modular, and it's providing power on the +5VSB.

500 watts or more is going to be a minimum, if you're wanting anything out of the overclock. Mhz take power. I'd spend at least $100 on a good, name brand psu. Power supplies are the heart of a computer, not processors.;)
