Power supply reccommendation

Dear users,

I'm putting a gaming system together. Abit IC7-MAX3 (If I can find one!), P4 2.8 or more. GForce 5900 Ultra. I GB PC3200. 2 WD SATA Raptor drives in RAID 0 array. Lian-Li PC75 case (Black). Water cooling - Custom radiator assembly, custom reservior, Danger Den cooling blocks, two Hydor L30 pumps. Can anyone reccommend a really good (and good looking) power supply? Thanks.

Whew! Nice rig! Got cash? :Q That's definitely an "I Love ME!" present. I can dig that.

Well, I'm not really knowledgeable on "good looking" power supplies; I know that some come premodded with LED fans and such, if that's your thing.

Perusing your component choices, I don't think you are n00b, so you already know that skimping on a PS, especially one powering an Uber Rig like this, is a dumb idea. So I won't say "don't skimp on the Power Supply!"

The Main AT Site had an excellent PS roundup recently. Great article, with some surprising results.

For a rig like you are building, I would use no less than a 400 watt PS. Preferably something in the 430-500watt range. Overhead is always a good thing to have.

Even though they didn't do too well in the above shootout, I've always used Antec PS's. The Truepower line is very quiet; I have a 430 watt model and it's superb.

Big brand names like Antec and Enermax are strong and reliable. Plus there are some newer companies out there making some good stuff. Check the article and good luck.

id think an enermax 550W psu would be good for that

I hear the Antec 550w is also ballz-to-the-wallz. You can also get an additional bay-mounted faceplate with controls to adjust how much power you want to allocate to certain components in your system.

I think its like $99 for just the PSU on newegg, and $118 for both the PSU and additional faceplate combo package.
