Power supply reason for all my problems?

Hey, I have a 230W PSU (pretty sure) and I have the current problems:
1. after I load my PC (or it's been in power savings mode) then my monitor doesnt restore to its full size (trinitron 19"). It takes a good half an hour until it is full size.
2. My optical logitech mouse flashes all the time.. you can see the infra red light become stronger/weaker and I think this makes my cursor shake in place (happens alot).

Could all this be because I have a weak PSU?

Thnx in advance.

I'm not really sure what the problem is with your monitor. It dosen't sound too much like a power supply problem but more like a monitor problem....then again I'm not too sure on that one so wait for some more feedback there.

The mouse is perfectly fine. I have the same mouse and it does the same thing. I guess it is some kinda power saving and/or led saving feature.

If the Logitech mouse is anything like my Microsoft mouse then the LED is supposed to dim when not in use. If its a USB mouse then check your USB drivers. Look Here for additional USB help. Optical mice can be freaked out by certain coloured / patterned surfaces - try a different surface.

The monitor problem doesn't sound PC related - you may have a faulty monitor. Take it back if it's still under warranty.

However..

Intel systems are not as PSU critical and power hungry as AMD's, so it may not be your PSU.

To troubleshoot try running the system on a minimal hardware setup. If that works ok add devices one by one and see where the problems start to occur. If you have access to another PSU try running on that one and see if the problems still happen. Just follow a step by step method of elimination and you should find the source be it hardware or software related.

Good luck.. Yoshi.
