Ok, i have a question.. I have a 500watt PSU but would like to know what would be "bad" voltage readings.. or voltage readings that would flag as something to start looking out for..

here is my current readings

Voltage Values
CPU Core 1.44 V
CPU Aux 3.20 V
+3.3 V 3.20 V
+5 V 5.16 V
+12 V 2.11 V
+5 V Standby 5.03 V
VBAT Battery 2.75 V

I have no idea what most of it means... anyone can explain? or link me to some great info?

I too am kind of new to PSU's but the one thing i've learned is you better have good voltage on your +12V. 2.11 isn't alot, it should be up around 20v. Someone correct me if i'm wrong, like I said, new to PSU's

The reason it's called "+12V" is that it should be reading very close to 12 volts. Not 2.11 or 20. 😉 Now 12.11 volt would be just fine.

and generic power supplies are usualy a very bad idea, they are using not capable of putting out what they are rated at, and can cause a lot of problems.

neo PTLD is right...your computer will not funtion with a 12 volt line reading 2.11, meaning the reading is wrong. For best results, voltages should be within 5% which all of yours, excepting the 12 volt line, are.

Hey Systemz. Are you getting those readings off MSI's Core Center utility? I found that core center generally gives me bad readings. My CPU temp readings are consistently 4 degrees above what's reported by BIOS. The voltage readings Core Center reports are always off too. I installed Motherboard monitor 5 and it's readings are much more accurate. I suggest downloading mobo5 and using that instead.
