Power Supply Question

I have FIC AU31 mobo. My problem is PC wont do nothing. No lights power supply fan not spinning, etc. The power supply has the 4x4 pin that plugs into the mobo. I tried a working power supply that does not have the 4x4 plug and nothing happened. Do I have to use a PSU that has the 4x4 pins? Or should the PSU I tried should have worked if my mobo is not fried. Thanks for your replies inadvance.

A Socket A board will power up even if there is no 2x2 connected. It might not post, but it will power up. So given that you used two PSU's, one of which "known working" and the board didn't even power up, I'd say the board is toast.

Thanks, I know the original PSU is fried. So I now need a new PSU and a mobo. What are the chances that other parts, HD, CD drives, ETC. are fried also? I dont have another PC to test the parts, just this laptop.
