Power Supply Question

I need to get a new power supply for a PC I am building. The two I am deciding between are the Antec SmartPower 350W or TruePower 330W. I don't have wattage concerns with this relatively simple system.

Is there a reason I would want one from the TruePower series more than the SmartPower series (or vice versa)?

Thanks!

The TruePower line is a little better than the Smart Power line. Im not sure of the specific, but i think it has to do with the regulation of the rails. What Motherboard are you using? If it's a newer one, you may want to use a SmartPowerII are TruPowerII, as they have the new standard 24Pin Plugs. Also, as long as you are using a low power system, those two PSUs should be fine. Just remember that your not going to be able to add lots of fans and fancy case lights to it. It also *might* limit your upgrade possibilities in the future.

Thanks for the reply. This will actually be the PC that is listed in my signature except it will have a smaller WD hard drive and only 512 MB ram. I'm giving it to my nephew so it won't have too much in it.

Antec is good but have a look at the Seasonic S12 330, better PSU in all regards.

Well, due to store convenience, I picked up a Antec SmartPower 350W PS from Circuit City. I'm reinstalling the OS from scratch and thus far have experienced no issues that I had before with my previous PS.

Thanks for the tips with the other options that are probably overall better, but I think this will serve it's purpose (fingers crossed).

I'm sure the Antec will serve you fine.
