Power supply question

hey everyone,
i am building my second PC... after 1 year long disaster with the first one i have helped many friends with theirs and am ready to try again...

so i have a question:
how big a power supply do i need for
P4 2.8ghz
48x CDRW
16x DVD
2 Western Digital 80gb HD
1 3.5"
1 Geforce3 128mb
1 512 DDR 3200

thats really all i have...

so i am thinking an antec 330W should be enough. not sure how much upgrade/oc i will be able to do though if i go 330 instead of 380 or 400

what do you guys think?

i think a 330 watt should be good enbough for those parts, what i did with mine though was to get a 400 watgt, so if i upgrade parts, the power supply will handle it....but the power supply for those parts should do

330W is not acceptable, 350W would be the bare minimum for that system. I would suggest something like an Antec 380 - 430 watt PS.

Get yourself a True Power 430 for a few extra bucks. While the 330 may be OK and the 360 may be fine, if you have any problems, you will always wonder. At least I do.

Probably something alnog the lines of 350W should be fine. I recommend Enermax 350

i ran about an equivilent system just fine for 5 months on a 350W antec solution series PSU. if you want room to upgrade/oc in the future tho you may want to up it some.

330 W should be fine for that system. However, there is little harm in going for a bigger supply - particularly if you want to upgrade in future.

And I only have a 250 watt PS (very stable rails too...) and I have NEVER had a problem. Oh, and it may not be accurate, but my PC, external USB HDD, and Samsung 191T+ are attached to a APC BX1000 UPS, and Powerchute only claims a 132 watt load!!!

So, you should be fine.

350 quality psu. higher if u go generic bs wattage psu.
