Power Supply Question - Geforce 9series

I obtained a Precision 380 workstation recently with a 375W PSU (P/N: P8401) with 2 12v rails at 18A each. I have a migraine at this point trying to figure out whether or not it will be able to support a Geforce 9600, 9800, or comparable card.

While I know Nvidia recommends a 400w power supply, I've read what really matters is the voltage on the rails. The system is obviously not a gaming PC, but with about 4GB of memory and a mid range video card it should perform decent enough. It has no mezzanine cards at this point besides the video card I'm going to replace.

My funds are fairly limited and would like to avoid upgrading the power supply if possible. I'd appreciate any advice.

i'm guessing it does not have a dedicated PCI X connector. That would be the optimal solution otherwise you are typically left sharing a 12v rail w/ and that never good for a high end card.

Yes, that's enough for a 9800GTX / HD4850 at the very least. That Dell PSU comes up a lot in here, the conclusion is always that 9800 GTX / HD4850 is a comfortable recommendation. Depending on what's in the system it can probably handle more, but most people with those systems are pretty happy with that level of video card anyway.
