I was watching my q-see video surveillance system, which has been set up for about 48 hours, and it turned off. At the same time, the power supply that sits on the power outlet started to do that high-pitch sound. Came back an hour later, power supply was VERY hot, and the DVR would still not turn on. So, the power supply has the following specs on the back:
INPUT:100-240V AC 50/60 Hz
OUTPUT: 12v---2A
I have a spare power suppy with the same connector with the following specs:
INPUT: 100-127v 60Hz 0.25A
Output: 12.0V---750mA
Now, can i use this other power supply and not damage the DVR? The new power supply from Q-see would take quite a while to get here and would like to get it back up and running. Thanks for the help!
