Power supply or floppy drive problem?

The computer shuts down and reboots on its own when I try accessing the floppy drive. It will sometimes open the folder on the floppy but when I try to open a file in it...... well it crashes. The floppy drive was on the same power cord as the HD so I moved it to its own and it still does the same thing. Does this sound like a power supply problem or a floppy problem? It does it with win98 and XP which I just installed.

Is the connector plug in snugly on the floppy and all your drives? If it only does it with the floppy, then it seems like the problem lies with the floppy drive. Try switching in another floppy and see if it does the same. Hope this helps.
