Power Supply making weird noises

recently when i switch on my computer it will sometimes make a wierd noise and it sound like its coming from the power supply. i just switch off the computer and switch it back on until it goes away. its an Antec NEO HE500GB 500W Modular PSU With 80mm Low Speed/noise Fan 18db

PM AntecCSR or email Antec Fremont for an RMA.

so im guessing its a faulty psu?

it doesnt do it all the time though

Let me guess :roll: It happens most often when the PSU is cool/cold.

Yes, I'd RMA it. A malfunctioning PSU can kill other hardware on it's way out.
Usually a 5V spike nails a HDD.

It could be nothing, there's been instances of whining noises due to weird compatability issues with other components, completely safe but annoying. Then again it could be the PSU or parts thereof dying on you. RMA, why not.
