power supply making squeaky/scratchy noises

Hello all

I have an intel i7 920 processor and when the multiplier is at 21 there is a squeaky/scratchy noise coming from the psu.

The psu is a corsair TX650w

the rest of the system is:

Gigabyte ex58-ud3r
Ocz gold 6gb ram pcs-12800mhz
Asus en9500gt

before i bought the corsair psu i had it running on an antec neo 500 watt power supply and it would also make the noises so i was advised to get the power supply i have now.

Could it just be this psu is faulty? when the multiplier is at 12 or 15 there are no noises but at 21 there is a noise. I am using cpuz to see what the current multiplier is.

any help will be appreciated

Thanks

1000% sure its the psu

after much searching i found the problem and other people did have it. I just had to disable a setting in the bios: C1E and EIST (Enhanced Intel Speedstep Technology) to disable in the MB BIOS.

and the problem went away

its a shame it took so long and many of the computer retailers just kept telling me to buy a new power supply
