My old PSU just failed and I'm looking to replace it.

I am running an Athlon X2 4200+ with a PNY 8800GTS 320MB, 2GB RAM, and two SATA HDDs. The video card recommends a PSU with >27A available at 12V, I haven't seen too many PSUs that have a 12V rating of >27A. Is this requirement referring to just +12V or the combined total current available at +12V and -12V.

Any suggestions for a cheap reliable PSU for this system?

Well cheap and reliable don't belong in the same sentence. I would spend just some bucks and get a descent ps like enermax, fs or seasonic. I personally run enermax and today I ordered a galaxy 850w which has 94a on the 12v rail and costs almost $300. I know it's overkill and I like it that way so my ps doesn't strain and my system stays cool. It's rating is for a 24/7 load at 50C which I like.

Corsair HX520. 40A combined on the +12V rails. Did I mention Seasonic built? Pretty cheap at buy.com still (86.27 AR + GC discount.). Paid I think 80 dollars for mine so if you can wait a bit longer, you can have it for cheaper.

Means total 12V Amps available.

The 5150GH is excellent, but the ones I'm selling (click on the link in my Sig) would probably handle that system just fine. Few systems require more than 250 to 300 Watts from a PSU.
