Power Supply is making a buzzing sound

When I turn on my computer it makes a wierd buzzing sound, which I believe is coming from the power supply. If I turn my computer off for about 10 seconds or so, and then turn it on, it's fine and there is no noise. If I don't turn it off and on when I hear the buzzing and just let the computer run, the buzzing eventually goes away. It seems to be working OK, and the power supply is blowing air out, so I don't know what's up. Is it too much dust or something?

Buzzing is not good and should not be ignored. What brand/model power supply is it? Do you have a spare one you could swap in to see if it is the culprit. I wouldn't want my hardware being burned up by a power supply.

Most likely you've got a bearing going out on a fan in your PSU. Actually, it could also be caused by running a "cold" computer. Anyway, if the PSU isn't too old, get it RMA'ed while you still can. If it's really bothering you and you don't want to buy a new PSU, you could open the PSU and juryrig a new fan in place, but that's not exactly "safe" so do that at your own risk.

That's the usual culprit, a fan needs to spin up and the bearings stabilize. When it starts cold, the bearings may wobble slightly. I had a PSU like that, sometimes you had to start it a few times, or use a (plastic!) pen to gently "bump" the fan through the grille in the back, and it would stop wobbling.

But if the problem is the actual electronics, that's not good, something is most likely amiss there.
