Power Supply Identification

Is there any software, free or otherwise, that can identify the capacity of a system's power supply?

No. Such a program would have to up the power draw until a problem occured, which would be dangerous.

What you can do is stress your system by running 3Dmark or something and simultaniously measure the voltages. If they droop you know the supply is not adequate for the system.

Yeah - I know that - but sometimes that is not convenient. 🙂

I dunno about software, but there's actually an external piece of hardware you can get to help... I hear reviews are pretty good on it and they go for pretty cheap. It's a screwdriver, now peak in your case and write it on a sticky note and slap that mother on the top of your case. If you REALLY want to, you can take a polaroid of it instead of using a sticky note.
