unless i actually turn off the power supply with the switch on the powersupply itself - if i turn it back on....hummmmmmmm

what the hell is this?...it's a century electronics 300watt...piece of crap.

Unless you unplug an ATX supply it is always putting out +5v to the motherboard. This keep-alive voltage allows for soft starts.

really...nonetheless, why is it humming?..when i first bought it it never did it...

none of my other PSUs did it..

i'm tossing this one in the junker as soon as i get a new case...

i should urinate on it first...and then again, and again, and again, ad infinitum..

Humming usually comes from the fan not the actual PS. Is the fan turning off? We had a computer here at work where the fan just would never shut off, ended up replacing it.

the computer is OFF, hence the fan is not spinning, yet the PSU is humming...one of thsoe moderately high pitch ones...

>one of those moderately high pitch ones...

I have 4 PCs, that all make that noise, unless I unplug them from the wall. It's normal, comes from +5vSB to MB, get on with it!

nuo - normal?...

then all the PSUs i've previously owned were abnormal

i think i like the abnormal ones better...not the quasi-emachine ones..gunbuster?
