I've got two Linksys access points, but no power supplies for them. The linksys site specifies 12V for this particular AP, the WAP11, but no amps rating. I'm not too familiar with how power and everything works, so I need to ask if I can use any power supply as long as its rated at 12V?

If not, does anyone know where I could get power supplies for these things?

I got a replacement power supply from radio shack. Take the access point to radio shack and they shoudl be able to help you. You may be able to get one from Linksys but ymmv depending on the csr you get.

WAP11 Data Sheet States: 5V, 550mA TX, 230mA RX

If you are positive that you saw 12V it might be that the power brick is 12V and it is reduced with a stabilizer in the unit to 5V. I would estimate that 1A rating will Good.

But be careful, if you plug 12V and it should be 5V you might damage the unit.

Woops.. hmm, the facts for this thing is all over the place. Where did you find your data sheet? Another data sheet I saw said this:

5V DC, 2A, RF Output 20 dBm
