My thought on it, for what it's worth. If you don't spend around $100 or more, your asking for trouble. I just bought a Antec Truepower Trio 650, last week. It has three rails w/19amp per. It's at newegg for $120, I think. I couldn't wait. So, I bought it at Best Buy.

I think it's a mistake most people make equating dollars spent to quality of the power supply. Take the Antec line.....pricey but has a horrible reputation with the people who know power supplies....cheap capacitors that give up when stressed or when they face heat.

You don't have to pay huge bucks for a decent power supply.

Ever heard of Enhance power supplies? They sell through eWiz and have quite a few very good supplies.....they are the OEM supplier of many of Silverstone's power supplies.

Two I'd look at are the ENP-5140-GH and the ENP-5150-GH, a 400w and 500w version of identical Silverstone supplies.

JonnyGuru looked and torture tested the 5140-GH and found almost no ripple at a full load of 407 watts.....that's right, the power supply actually managed to put out more voltage than rated and without shutting off, tripping, or producing excess ripple in its output. He called it impressive.

Jonnyguru.com ..... look through the reviews.

eWiz.com .....go to power supplies and search Enhance. The 400W is $57 and the 500W is $69....two of the best at that price. Of course, you do give up sleeving and being modular, but clean, stable power output is, in my opinion, paramount to "cool".

As usual there is a lot of bad information being posted. I am not referring to the typical "avoid Antec" crap either which is bollocks.

The Corsair 520W would be plenty.

And personally, I'd go E6300, easily OC to E6600 speeds, and get a 320MB 8800 GTS.

Thanks. Someone pointed out an Enhance Power Supply to me which I'll be picking up for $69. Thanks for helping verify that they ar egood.

Regarding the E6300 vs the E6600, the E6600 has a 4MB cache and I know nothing about Overclocking so I'll be using it as is out of the box. I can build PC's, I just am not that much of an enthusiast.

I've had an Antec PS go out. But, I continue to buy from them because of their 3 year warranty. I sent my bad one in, and they sent me a new one.
