Power supply fan

Anybody now if it would be safe to remove the power supply fan on a Gateway 2000 486dx2 50mhz type computer. I assume the power supply is ~150w, and it is just running a hard drive, no video, sound, etc.

You need some sort of ventilation on your system.

The PS is probably generating the most heat.....make sure the fan is exausting air.

You can open up the PS and replace this fan...it's just a 12V....if yer concened about noise.

If you remove the fan, your ps WILL fry...I'd bet money on it.

I have to wonder if people think manufacturers just wanted to waste money sticking a fan in there for no reason...
