I just recently built my pc

my specs are sonata II/w 450w
asus a8n-e
amd 3700+
1gb ram
7800gt
80gb hdd

After i updated nforce chip set and while updating my winxp, i noticed my power supply fan is not spinning. I am pretty sure i have that 3 pin connector(thats the only one coming out of my powersupply that looks like a fan connector, blue and black wiring) for the power fan connected to the right place. I have 1 rear and 1 front 120mm fan, they both works fine. infact everything seems to be working fine( i actually left it on for few hours) until i noticed power supply fan was not spinning..

Please help me out
Thanks very much

That connector is for monitoring the PSU fan speed, it still gets power directly from the PSU. What are your ambient temperatures? I would imagine they would have to be very cool for the fan to throttle to 0, especially for a fairly power-hungry rig such as yours. Is the PSU an Antec? My guess is the fan is dead...

ok my mistake

turns out smartpower 2.0 turns external exhaust fan off(until its need to be on
) ...and has an internal intake fan spinning slowly instead..

I am assuming i am not suppose to be able to see the internal fan? cause the fan i can see from using a flashlight is the one that is not spinning whatsoever.

hmm ok...well i don't really know how this works.. i looked inside the computer and see 1 fan not spinning, so i looked outside (from the back) and see another fan not spinning..

Are both of them suppose to be "external exhaust fans"?? cause like i feel no air out of the powersupply..or at least i don't think i can feel any.

"quiet" power supplies intentionally leave the fans off until the supply heats up enough to need them. If it's cold in the room and you have the case open, it might take a long time before one or both fans spin up.
