Power Supply dying?

So after deciding to re- install XP do to some sound card issues, upon finishing installation and some patching my computer would turn on but not boot to bios.

So my 4 fans and 2 pumps (WC rig) tunr on but I just get a blank screen, no bios screen, no beeping indicating that my video card isn't connected. I tried another video card and it works fine, after some tinkering I was able to boot the PC after unplugging the DVD-rom drive and remving the sound card. Though I had been able to boot it up before with those conneted.

So i tried to install a new wireless card, boom black screen once again. Remove the wireless card and still black screen, no bios. Though the fans and pups run. No water leaks, this rig is 2 years old no leaking and yes I did check and there are no leaks.

After fiddling around with the video card in it's socket, and several attempts to start it finally booted. However I checkd the bios for voltage values as i figured it's either the PS, otherboard, or video card. Though if it was the video card (it's not OCed, neither is the CPU), why would it boot up with it.

Anyway here are the volage values from bios

ATX 3.3v = 3.39
ATX +5v = 5.18
ATX +12v = 12.35
3V dual = 3.24
standby +5v = 5.11

these values seem a bit off, I a using a Antec TP2-550, it should be good enough for my rig
operon 165 @stock 1.8ghz, Abit kn8 SLI, 2GB DDR 400 @ 400mhz, 1x 7900gt, 2 7200 rpm HDD, 4 fans, 2 pumps (each pump uses the 12v line)

Speedfan values are
core = 1.39
+3.3 = 3.39
+5 = 5.19
+12V = 11.73
-12V = -6.85
-5V = -3.94
+5VSB = 5.67
VBat = 3.06

the -12 and -5v look pretty bad, should I start looking for a new powersupply? Or maybe a new motherboard? hopefully not a vid card

Your voltages are "off" because you're using software to check them.

Your issues sound like either a bad motherboard or you have an extra stand off underneath the motherboard that's intermittenly touching a trace.

thanks jonny, i was thinking of re-seating the motherboard to see what would happen, though likely it'll require a new motherboard
