Power supply: Does higher watts ALWAYS mean more energy use?

I was wondering this: If the same computer system uses a 330w versus a 430 watt power supply, is more energy used, aka higher costs for running the system with the 430 watt supply versus teh 330 watt one, or does the power supply just put out what is needed with 430 being the peek?

nope, the PS only pulls what it needs inrelation to what the components need.
If the components need 200 watts, any power supply will power that, no more, hopefully no less ;)
So the load @ your socket will be the same, all things being equal.
But most definetely, the 430 watter will be better :D

You right!. But, need to check really well of your components which you are already using. You mivht need more power than you think.

Always pick more power, if you can for your future upgrade.
