Okay, I'm completely new at building PC's from scratch. I just ordered an Aspire case and it came with a 500W PSU. I wanted to test the voltage so I plugged it up and "turned it on". Notice the quote "Turned it on", by that I mean I hit the switch on the back (not the power regulator... I'm not that dumb :p)

After hitting the switch, it doesn't come on. It has two fans, LEDs and an acrylic window... So things should be pretty lively in there when it's on. I tested the power cable with a volt meter and it's getting power from the wall.

I don't want to call thier tech support, I'd rather find out if there are added steps to making it work. I'd much rather get laughed at over the internet than over the phone ;)

You need the mobo connected to turn the PSU fully on--the power switch on the front of the case does it (connected to the mobo).

Thanks for clearing that up. I thought that was the answer but I haven't bought the motherboard yet. (Waiting on NF4)
