how can i use the fan in power supply somewere in case.Someone must have done this..Where do you connect the fan and mount it in case.Bought a volcano II from newegg. The fan started to make noise after about 10 hrs.All of a sudden power supply went..Luckily i just bought power supply..Got new fan and everything ok

Unscrew it.. and eitehr pull out the 2pin clip or if its soldered in just cut the wires (be careful not to touch any of the capacitors).

From there just wire up a molex onto it.. (yellow to red and black to black..)

Are you sure the fan is any good? If the fan started to make noise, then the bearings are probably shot. You should be able to take the fan out of the power supply, and then connect it to one of the power connectors on your new power supply by pushing the bare wires into the proper connector positions. Turn on your System just long enough to get through the Power On Self Test. That should let you hear the fan. If it's noisy, then throw the thing away.

Well.

If you have a space in the bottom front of the case of the top back then mount it there, otherwise you'll have to do some drilling/cutting if you want to use it.

You could always ghettorig it up to the frame so it hangs and blows over your cpu or video card..

U don't need to cut the wires If U look at the connector U will see two "rails" that is on the upperside of the connector take a knife and cut them and they will fitt on a MB connector.
