Power Supply Connectors...Does it matter which connector goes to what card or drive or fan?

I have a power supply with 3,444,098 connectors...I am using most of them but WONDER, does it matter which connector goes to which card or drive?? I mean, if I connect say my Hard Drive to one connector and then connect my sound card to the one of the other connectors on the SAME wire, will it cause my HD to slow down? Some wires have 3-4 connectors on them and I was just wondering if there is a slow down in power going to a particular periferial if I have 3-4 things connected to the same wire...

I have yet to see a soundcard that accepts a molex connector. Got pics?

My rule of thumb is to use ALL of the molex leads first, then start chaining them if you need to.

no, it doesn't matter. just use the connector with the length closest to what you need for it to reach to whatever device you're powering. the goal is to keep things tidy, not being concerned about using a particular connector for a particular device :)

So, would it make a difference if you use splitters to connect all your devices to one plug, or should they be divided up between all or most of the plugs?

I've read that splitters can cause degradation in power. I would use up all the power supply's provided connectors before splitting any.

It doesnt make a difference what connector you use for what device. Using splitters can cause a slight degredation in power flow to the device though.
