That time again...

The PSU would be powering:

Gigabyte GA-K8N Pro-SLI
3500+ Venice
1GB (2x512MB) Kingston HyperX PC3200 - (Already bought)
eVGA 7800GT (w/ possibility of another for SLI later on)
WD 1600JS Hard Drive
NEC DVD Burner
Floppy, assortment of fans, maybe some lights, misc. small stuff.

Ones that looked interesting:

Text - Pricey, but SLI certified + modular.

Any thoughts, comments, or suggestions? (In the $0 - $60 range)

out of all of those, the only one worth buying is the Antec.

Good PSU brands to keep in mind: Seasonic, PC Power & Cooling, Fortron Source (FSP), OCZ, Zippy/emacs, Enermax, and maybe Antec... So look for these brands. Fortron is probably going to be your best bet as they're nicely priced and are excellent performers. I would look for a 400-500w model given the system you plan on running, but if you plan on moving to SLI, you should be looking at the 500-550w range from GOOD psu brands only. None of this aspire/rosewill stuff.

Some suggestions: Fortron 530W $76, OCZ Modstream 450 $74, Seasonic S12-500 $129

How serious are you about running 7800GT's in SLI? It sounds like you're fairly serious about it, so I would pony up the cash now on the best psu I could afford (look at the ~$100-130 range) and avoid any power-related issues now.

If you're gonna drop that sort of money into a computer, you need to heed this: Nothing in your computer works without a PSU, it's the foundation to all. Your computer is a marvel of electricity, so feed it nice clean power. Don't buy a cheap PSU when you got hundreds of dollars of equipment on the line. Cheap PSUs are for office cubicle monkeys.

If you want a nice PSU that supports SLI, you can get a S12-500

The AX450 is probably a solid PSU, but if you're gonna run SLI, and are thinking of buying a pair of 7800GTs, I'd spend the extra $50 to get a good 500+W PSU from Antec, Enermax, Fortron, Seasonic or Zalman, just to name a few.

Agreed.

I can't believe there are people that somehow think it's ok to spend $50 on a PSU when they blow $1000+ on pair graphic cards. If you can afford SLI anything you can affored a good PSU.

Honestly, SLI isn't worth it if you ask me. Skip out on SLI, and get 2GB of ram instead of 1GB, and an X2 3800+ instead of the 3500+, and a nice PSU.

I agree with ribbon13. The Seasonic S12-500 S12 Series 500W 500 Watt ATX SLI Power Supply is worth it. My next power supply will be the S12-500.

The Smartpower are not generally thought of as strong as the True Power, and even THG (I know I know that I shouldn't mention THG) Failed the True Power 550 V2.0. The first failed badly, so the Antec gave up another, which failed as well. THG are Antec fanboys most of the time, so that means alot..

Stick with One of the Fortron/FSP server units, and you will get more than you paid for, not LESS. The server units are EPS 12v/ATX GES compliant. Depending on your mobo, you may need the adapter.

Try one of these on for size.

A good FSP SLI unit for less $$$ than you'd think I found one for 91 Dollars on Zip-Zoom-Fly.

Dude your choices are way off. The only thing there that looks decent is the Antec.

If you want something hardcore and reliable, go with a PCP&C power supply, if that's too much money then go with something like a Fortron or Seasonic.
