Right, So I have a Creative 12x DVD drive along wtih a Lite-On 16x CD-RW drive and they worked fine for a while. A while back there was a very strange problem where my computer rebooted out of nowhere and after that incident, the optical drives are not working right. the DVD drive gives me a solid orange light and no button resposes when I power up, the lite-on drive's tray keeps popping back open when closed. They are also detected without problems. I took the drives to another PSU and plugged em in, they opened and closed fine and nothing strange. All my 12V rails are within specs and the mobo along with the HDs work fine. Do I need a new PSU?

I have the Antec PP-303X 300W power supply

any ideas?

nope, the other PSU I have is a underpowered gateway one, I think 200W or so. It also has this weird special fan connector for the internal PSU fan
