Power Supplies: Enermax EG565AX vs. Antec NeoPower 480

I'm building the following system:

*AMD Athlon 3700+ San Diego
*Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe
*2x512MB OCZ Gold
*74GB WD Raptor 10k SATA
*1x GeForce 6800GT OC (Will add another in a year or so)


Should I go with the Enermax EG565AX-VEFMA ( Link )

Or the Antec NeoPower 480 ( Link )

I can get the NeoPower through my work for like $75.... the Enermax runs $113.... but we don't carry it so I'd have to pay full price.

Enermax if you want to run SLI. They are still both really good.

Links don't work. The enermax should be more powerful than the neopower, so if you're going to do sli 6800gt's, get it.

I might go SLI... if I do, it won't be for quite a while though, until the prices of the 6800GT's come down a lot.

sorry i missed the "might sli"

if you might then get the enermax or the antec TPII 550. you definitely want more than 33 on the 12v if you are going to oc and sli.

i'm assuming the enermax is 24 pin

The Enermax is like 535W... NeoPower is 480W.

I'm not so sure, Enermax rates they?re max power at 25C which is ridiculously low. Any temp above 25C and the max power rating drops accordingly.

Me too, and I personally have the aforementioned Enermax 535W power supply in my 6800GT SLI rig.

The Enermax is like 535W... NeoPower is 480W.

The better Enermax units are rated up to 40C.

I have the neopower 480, and would probably recommend that, as it's dead quiet and controls your case fans to do the same! Not to mention the modular cables, and the classy sleeving (yes, they sleeve it now).
