Power supplies and video cards...

Wait a second... the NSK6500 seems to have an SU-430, with 2x16A 12A rails... That's not good, is it?

Depends on the rest of the system.

E6600 C2D, some unknown P965 board, a SATA HD or two, X-Fi, that's about it?

After 12 hours of reflecting on this, I'm thinking it might be best to just get the antec solo (the version without a PSU) and stick a 500W seasonic in there. The extra $90 for peace of mind might be a wise investment?

Zero on the CPU... as for the video card, if I end up buying one of those "factory overclocked" ones (which seem to make up most of the video cards available in the 7900GT/GTX segment), I guess it'll be overclocked by that amount?

You should be good to go. I hope your NeoHE will be compatible with your mobo, though.

Hmm... but we run into the annoying problem I mentioned in my second post in this thread: it turns out that the 430W Antec PSU included in the case I was considering isn't the NeoHE like I thought, but a more basic model with only 2x16A 12V rails. (If you want to see the specs, go to newegg, search for Antec NSK6500, they have a picture of the PSU sticker)

Am I right in assuming that while the NeoHE 430W would be okay, this one wouldn't be? (At which point... if the question becomes buying a NeoHE separately or a Seasonic, the difference is only like $30)

Sorry for the confusion; Antec's marketing department is really making things unclear, especially when they sell 430W PSUs with cases that they don't seem to sell on their own.

i love my seasonic s12 600w, it cools down my 7900gtx really much.

edit: i have a bfg tech 7900gtx, the one you listed in your links.

The 2x16A model should work as well. What you could do is get the case and then try the PSU, and if it doesn't work you can always sell it.

I'm not that fond of Antec PSUs though.

How quiet is the BFG 7900GTX fan?

a bit, i still can hear the fan spinning. it gets hot if you don't have any fans next to the video card to exhaust air out. the heatpipes do help but it still gets hot.

when i play games, it goes up to an average of 55c. for idle, it goes below than 50c.

without fans, it goes up to about 65c!!!

I'd get the solo and a seasonic or even the enhance 5150g from ewiz.

Yeah.

I hate to sound biased, but with Antec's lack of QC these days, i'd stay away.
