What's the operating pressure of a power steering system in PSI?

According to my FSM, the relief pressure is 1450-1500PSI +/-50 and the flow rate 2.4-2.8GPM@1500RPM.

Edit: the "normal" unloaded pressure is 50-80PSI.

I was looking at the specs for a GM PS pump the other day. The pump produced 850psi and had a relief (blowoff) valve that activated at 1200psi

lol....a hydrulic pump is cheap. no need to use a powersteering pump. try a pump for a plow or something, or just get a real pump off ebay. i got a 10k hand pump for 70 bucks.
