I purchased a new power supply the other day from newegg. A thermaltake purepower 420W which recieven over 200 positive reviews. When i got it I removed my old power supply and even followed the directions durring the install process, but when i hit the power button....nothing. when i flipped the switch on the power supply the light on my lan socket lit up, so some power is getting to the motherboard, but when i hit the power button for the system all i hear is a slight pulse and then nothing. Is there anything else i can try, or should i just get an RMA and be done with it?

Hmm. What type of mobo are you using? Is it a p4 or an AMD system? Make sure your main plug going to your mobo is secure.

Need more details! :)

Recheck all connectors. Try flipping the back power switch while holding the front panel button down.

If you or your friends have a power gague, (could be as simple as a light on a wire) check it with that, I've used it before to check the viability of PS.

Thanks for the input, but i think it's dead. I tryed taking it out and re-connecting it, the voltage is right, i tried the flipping the switch while holding the power button. I can't really think of anything else to do. newegg has a good return policy anyway. might as well send it back.
