Symptoms:
This has happened in games and during normal youtube browsing - the computer, seemingly randomly, goes to a black screen, and the message "power saving mode" comes on the Dell/Alienware monitor. I can hear everything going on in the back ground, but it is as if the monitor thinks there is no signal going t it. The problem is, I cant get out of this without holding down the power button until the machine shuts off. Nothing else will bring back the screen.
I have gone into the control panel and changed the sleep modes to never.
I have updated the ATI drivers.
