Should be, what does the rest of the system look like?
I'm sorta second guessing myself here, not because of your CPU, just because 3x 200W+ GPUs is cutting it close. Does mining stress the cards as much as gaming, or even more?
A good 750W platinum supply should do ~ http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...7151120&cm_re=seasonic-_-17-151-120-_-ProductHonestly, I couldn't give you an answer. I know that my cards are stable at higher overclocks while mining compared to gaming and that mining requires small PCIE bandwidth.
So 850w then?

OR another (cheaper?) 850W one

If you've got a flexible budget, then overspending on a PSU is the best thing you can do, trust me you won't regret it later.
Nothing less than 1300W, but just to be on the safe side you should get ~ http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139079Thank you for the advice. I definitely won't skimp on the PSU.
One more question for you, in my other rig, how many watts would you need to power one rig with four 280x's and one 280?
