Power requirements for 3 GPU's

Hey guys im building a new system over the next couple of weeks and am looking at the Corsair HX620 PSU.

At this point Ill only be running 1 1900XTX but if ATI comes up with their 3 GPU system I will most likely upgrade to that sometime next year.

Will that PSU be enough for 3 GPU's? or should i get the 500W now and a more powerful one later.

The reaspn this matters now is that Ill have to get everything shipped to Bombay next year. Mobos and gfx cards are lighter and easier to carry but PSU's are heavier and more of an inconvenience

I haven't ever heard of Corsair making PSU's...I'm not sure how they perform and with ~$1000 of graphics under the hood, I'd consider going with a PC Power and Cooling psu...they're pricey, but I think they're probably the most reliable psu's made.

If you're gunna drop over $1000 on GFX cards, you should NOT skimp on PSU. As gimp recommended, PC Power & Cooling has some kickass PSUs, at a price, however. For 3 GPUs, I might look at the 1kW PSU they offer.

And rule of thumb: Heavier PSU = better, non-cheaply built PSU 🙂

Seasonic makes Corsairs PSU's and Ive generally heard good stuff about em (Seasonic that is). I guess Ill stick with the 520W one for now and get a much more powerful one when the time comes to upgrade my gfx cards. Ill go over my budget with a IkW PSU now.

Thanks guys.

Or you could get the 1.1kW Tagan PSU. I think that for now you should stick to a smaller PSU as the power requirements could be lower with more GPUs in the future as cards become more efficient.
