Hey all...I'm a newbie here, so I hope this is in the right board.

I'm experiencing a power problem w/ my logitech z-560's...the system is plugged in, all power switches are turned on, and all speakers are plugged in correctly, but the system will not power up. I tried alternate power outlets, and I hooked up the satellite speakers to other sources, so I know they are still functional.

I'm not certain if the problem is the sub-woofer, or if it is the "soundtouch control center" (the main user interface, w/ volume control, bass/fade controls, etc...). Has anyone experienced similar problems, or know of a solution?, or did my system just kick the bucket? I just noticed this problem when I tried to turn on my speakers this morning.

Thanks in advance

you said it "all power switches are turned on", and "but the system will not power up"... so how can you tell it's on if it does not power up?

Welcome to the forums!

I had a set of 560's that did the same thing. Luckily, I have another set so it was easy to troubleshoot, turned out the "control center" was bad. FYI, the warranty is 3 years on these. Hopefully, you're still in the warranty period. Call Logitech and be ready to troubleshoot the problem. They ended up having me send in the control center and then they sent me a WHOLE new set....I forget what they sent me, but they weren't the 560's since they no longer make those. The replacement sent had fewer watts but it was a 5.1 system, good enough.

ThePiston - I know they don't turn on, since the blue circle around the volume dial does not light up.

BadThad - I tried calling customer service, but they said my waranty was expired.

The customer rep mentioned replacing a fuse inside of the sub, but I can't get the damn thing opened. I took out all of the screws in the back, but the thing won't budge. I don't know if there's some kind of trick I need to do to open it up, but I'm running out of ideas. Has anyone done this before?

In case I can't open it, does anyone know of any good replacements that use standard gague speaker wire (not co-ax or RCA)?

If you loved your z-560s then you'd love the logitech z-680s.
If you have the money go and get the logitech z-5500s.
All use standard (not sure what gauge) cable like the 560s.
