Power problems all of a sudden.. uh oh...

Suddenly, as of today, I have been having problems powering my CD-ROM, I first noticed when I booted up this evening and it didn't find my CD-ROM.. I restarted again and noticed that it never lit up nor could I eject the tray, I restarted like 3 times and eventually it powered back up.. now I'm in Windows 2k and all of a sudden I get an error message saying I unplugged my CD-ROM and now it's gone, of course I didn't. Anyone know why my CD-ROM is losing power all of a sudden?

Try switching the CD to a different power connector. It could be the power connector. Unfortunately, it might also be the CD-ROM itself beginning to fail. The circuit board on the CD may not be receiving the power correctly from the power supply. If that is the case, you'll have to replace the CD drive.
