Power problem with XFX 6800 GT

Can someone help me please?

I have got an XFX 6800 GT PCI-E in my new system and I am having really strange power problems with the card.

When I first power on the computer the pc might not boot due to no power going to the card. The problem is very random. If will usually fail on power up 2 times out of 5. I know when it is not going to work as the green led on the card will go on for a second and then go out again. The led stays on when the card works.

I thought that the problem was with my PSU which was a generic 500W so I got a new PSU - Antec Truepower 550W EPS, but I still have the problem. I am not sure but it could be a loose connection with the power cable that goes to the 2 molex''s, but the really weird thing is that on the times when the green led stays on, the system will work without any problems which sort of rules out a loose connection with the power cable.

If anyone has any ideas then please let me know.

Thanks

Try plugging in the molex connect in the EZplug on the mobo (assuming you have a a8n). You have already found that it isnt a power supply problem. We are also talking about an XFX here, a company known for diffective cards.

Thanks for the info.

I have now fixed this issue. I have applied the latest bios to the A8N-SLI and this has fix it.
