In Idaho, a power play while the governor’s away
Lt. Gov. Janice McGeachin issued an executive order on Covid vaccines and tried to send Idaho’s National Guard to the Mexican border.

Gov Little is in Texas meeting with nine other Republican governors.
Lt Gov McGeachin, a far-right Republican, is running for governor.
(In Idaho, the governor and lieutenant governor don’t run on the same ticket.)
Lt Gov McGeachin issued executive orders while Gov Little was away:
1) Anti-vax mandate
2) Sending Idaho national guard troops to help patrol the Texas/Mexico border.
note: Idaho shares an international border with Canada but not Mexico.
Idaho National Guard General replied:
“I am unaware of any request for Idaho National Guard assistance under the Emergency Management Assistance Compact (EMAC) from Texas or Arizona,” Garshak wrote, in part, to McGeachin.
“As you are aware, the Idaho National Guard is not a law enforcement agency.”
Gov Little said when he comes back, he's going to reverse those orders.
WOW!
Repub far right will stop at nothing to grab power, even from one of their own party.
