Hey all -- we had a power outage in my neighborhood yesterday and when the juice came back on, my main machine would no longer boot up. Fans spin up for 1/10 of a second, then nothing. Can't even get close to POST. I'm thinking maybe the power supply got blown, but I'm open to any other ideas you may have. Thanks for the help.

Do you have a surge protector?

If you don't, your PS could have gotten fried from that power outage. Try another one if you have it.

Yeah, it sounds like the PS. Pray that it is 'cause the next most likely candidate is the motherboard.

you know ive been telling myself for a while that i am goina get a ups next time i get some spair cash, but every time i end up buying a harddrive or something like that. its odd how that works. fortunately, i havent had any problems yet and while i do use a surge protector, i highly doubt the effectiveness of it. usually i just unplug my system when it storms, but back to the topic. try a spair psu if u can or pick up a new one, and if you are still having problems consider rmaing the mobo. look on the bright side, now you have an excuse to upgrade your system.
