power now question

how does power now work with mobile bartons do the start out at 133 x 15 and raise and lower the multi or do they raise the fsb. i know that my 2600m defaults at 15 x 133 any thoughts?

they change the multiplier and voltage i believe. down from max. http://crystalmark.info/download.html use crystal cpuid and set the multiplier management settings. its working with my barton mobile, i set it to 400-2.2ghz, cuz well, mines o/c'd too. temp drop during moderate use is nice.

oh so your using power now in a desktop system? very interesting, never thought about it like that, and I just ordered a mobile 2400+ 35W from newegg

yup, using that program, since windows native support doesn't work for me it seems. that program also has a real time clock speed window if u want to check, its interesting:) nice knowing my cpu now drops to 400mhz when idle though. i've read that nforce boards can't do it though... my board is a lousy ecs, only does multipliers, no voltage changing.

yes word was that you couldnt utilize powernow on desktops cause the BIOSes didnt support it?
