Power Management/ACPI Issues

New member (but longtime lurker) needs help with power issues. Just installed Abit SH6 and can't seem to resolve all the sleep/wake issues with WinME. On the BE6-II prior to this I had the same issues, but was able to shut it all off in BIOS.

With the SH6 the price of AGP 4x and a 133 bus is that this spawn of the devil ACPI can't be completely overridden (or so it seems).

Anybody know a good reference site/article on these power issues in general. Guess I need to bone up on it.

Funny, I have had some problems with APM with Windows ME too. Turns out that I had APM disabled when I first loaded the operating system. Maybe you had some settings off in BIOS (Power Section) when you first built your computer?

I never did get it (APM) operating comfortably under Win 98 or 98se either. I guess I just have to hit on the right combination thru trial & error. I suspect that some peripherals are more comfortable with it than others and that every machine's different. I do need to check to be sure that the BIOS and OS are both set compatibly.
