Power line conditioner?

I have a question about power line conditioners (or other similar products)...

I recently got a Dell Inspirion 8000 notebook, and I noticed that when I plugged the AC adaptor into my one of my numerous power strips, the sound on my laptop would be very corrupted. I tried a different, unoccupied socket in my house and the sound corruption would go away. This leads me to the conclusion that the power feed through the socket in my room is not clean enough for the notebook. Are there UPS-like products I can buy to ensure that the power supply is constant and uninterrupted?

Thanks in advance.

Yeah, you could buy a line conditioner or UPS w/line conditioning. These days w/the price differences between both of them, it might be better deal to buy a UPS that does it all. I personally use Belkin 650va (The Regulator Pro Gold Series) at home and I think it's pretty nice for its price range. (around $140 shipped?)

So line conditioning WOULD help in this case?

That Belkin 650va you have, it does line conditioning as well?
