Hey all,

I just bought a neo 2 platinum and a amd 64 3200.

I put the memory, cpu on the board and connected the power switch. We turned it on to check something with the fan.

The problem is that as soon as I turn on the back power, the whole board starts up.
If I hit the power switch, it will turn off. But if I hit the power switch again it doesn't turn back on. I have to unplug and replug the power cord and then it will just turn on again and do the same thing.

Here is what I have tried
-took the board out of the case and tried it on the static bag
-Tried to change sids on the power switch connector in case it was in backwards.
-unpluged everything else but the power switch.

Still does it no matter what.

I am using a 480 watt PS with the setting at 115.

Could it be the board? or maybe the power supply?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Dont run the mobo on the static bag, its conductive.

The BIOS may be set to power on after a power failure.. reset/clear the BIOS.

Is the outlet youre using properly grounded?

Other than that, Im not sure.

CrispieFried's Bios idea seems right. It's an easy fix if you go into bios.

Thanks guys.

Won't removing the battery and putting it back in reset the bios?

Edit:
The reason I ask is becasue the HD and vid card are still in this computer. I don't want to format and move the drive to the other system until after this is fixed

Pull the power switch and try turning it on by just shorting the pins with a screw driver. It's a stretch but maybe the switch is shorted out.

Fixed:

Changed the cmos jumpers and then changed them back. Everything works fine now.

Thanks for all the help!
