My computer ran fine for 2 years. Recently installed a 9800gx2 (not a driver conflict; wiped HDD entirely before install) and replaced some old slow RAM with 4gigs of 4-4-4-12 Corsair (which is running at 5-6-5-15 due to some strange POST issues). Everything ran fine for about 2 weeks.

Last night I put my computer into standby and went to bed. I woke up this morning and noticed it had shut itself down at night. When I tried to turn it back on it was completely unresponsive - no fan whirring, no beeping, no turning on whatsoever. The power strip is fine because I have the notebook connected to it as I type this. Inside the computer the only thing that appears odd is that the blue ASUS power logo on the p5B is pulsing instead of remaining steadily on. I'm guessing that means something is wrong.

Help?

e: tried replacing the RAM with a stick of 512 Corsair I had lying around - same won't-power-up problem. I noticed that the ASUS logo pulses very rapidly while I have the PSU turned on and then slowly winds down after I turn it off instead of simply stopping immediately.

e2: the red lightning bolt on my X-fi card and the green backlight on the 9800gx2 power sockets are not on. This is beginning to look more and more like my PSU magically fried itself last night while I slept. Hopefully someone can confirm/deny my suspicion before I spend money on a replacement to test with.

Specs:

ASUS P5B Deluxe
E6600
BFG 9800gx2
Sound Blaster X-Fi Platinum
4gigs Corsair XMS2 RAM
oczxs600 600w psu

Everything is stock (except the RAM which is running 5-6-5-15 instead of 4-4-4-12 because it was being finnicky).

Yes, I will be replacing my surge protector. As for the wiring - I'm scheduled to move out of my current apartment as is so I'm not too worried about any potential complications on that front.
